POSITION DESCRIPTION

Enterprise Applications Administrator

Overview
This position is accountable for the day to day operations of business-critical applications throughout Chisholm. The position will work closely with both the Infrastructure and Development teams to ensure the applications are achieving required service levels.

This position will support business units in the effective and efficient use of software applications by applying software features to business functions.

This role focuses on the implementation, maintenance, administration and support of third-party applications used in conjunction with business and IT critical systems. Specific focus will be on the support of Chisholm's Student Management System (Strata) and Learning Management Systems (Moodle)

The incumbent is a key and active participant of the ITS Infrastructure team and provides expertise in proactively engaging and liaising with business systems users across diverse business area portfolios.

Key Accountabilities

System Maintenance
* Understand the cloud environment to ensure a continued strong foundation of    a stable, reliable, highly-available and secure platform for the hosting of
  Chisholm's applications

* Ensure the security, data integrity and reliability of the Institute's enterprise         business systems meets the agreed service standards.

* Ensure that all enterprise system incidents are managed to resolution through
  working with other teams within IT Services, external vendors, and affected
  business users.

* Actively manage all change processes, including upgrades and day-to-day
  updates according to established processes, using test environments and
  liaising with expert users and vendors to ensure quality user acceptance testing
  before changes are applied to operational systems.

* Administer enterprise systems to ensure routine day-to-day tasks such as
  account management can be managed by the ITS Service Desk, but ensuring    that the processes are in line with quality and audit requirements.

Systems Enhancement
* Ensure that all changes and internal enhancements to enterprise systems are
  well documented and are available for knowledge transfer between staff.

* Ensure local instructions for other IT Staff (especially the ITS Service Desk) are
  capable of guiding them to perform daily administrative tasks such as user
  account creation.

* Ensure all change and project management documentation in a timely manner
  for major systems changes such as upgrades or enhancements to systems.

Communication and Customer Service
* Ensure that a high level of communication is maintained with business system
  owners, to ensure that the Information Systems team are aware of issues
  arising from the use of enterprise systems, or possibilities or requests for
  enhancement.

* Ensure all scheduled changes to enterprise systems are communicated to
  minimise disruption to business users.

* Responsible for maintaining quality relationships with external vendors to     
  ensure a high level of support is available to the Institute.

* Work with each business area to establish expert users capable of guiding and
  training less experienced users within their departments in the best use of the
  systems.

* Work with the Training Coordinator and ITS Service Desk to ensure that
  required training is provided as part of the systems change process.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

Essential 
* Degree or relevant post graduate qualification in information systems,     information technology, computing or business

Desirable
* Information Technology Information Library (ITIL)L v3

* Prince2 or PIMBOK project Management foundation certificate

* SQL server administration and SQL scripting

Skills and Experience

Mandatory
* Expertise and experience in Strata and Moodle

* Extensive knowledge of the use and administration of enterprise systems in a      Microsoft Azure hosted environment.

* Experience in change management and project management of small to
  medium sized projects relating to enterprise information systems.

* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with a demonstrated
  capacity to generate and maintain high quality documentation to Institute
   standards.

* Strong customer service and problem solving skills

Desirable
* Ability to train others in the use of enterprise systems including administration,
  maintenance, problem diagnosis and investigation
