Our Client

Our client is a not-for-profit organisation, whose goal is to help increase demand for wool through investments in marketing, innovations and R&D - from farm to fashion.  

The Role 

Due to continued growth in this area, our client is seeking to Project Officer, reporting to the Manager, Woolgrower Extension and Adoption. The team takes new R&D initiatives to the farmers via workshops and publications. The role will see you work closely with the R&D function, as well as a range of external providers to coordinate projects in that area. It also involves liaising with woolgrowers and facilitation with research bodies and extension providers.  

This will include:
  • Project Coordination - Monitor progress, key milestones and highlight any risks and concerns
  • Reporting - Provide project work in progress reports and recommendation, project milestone reviews and project data and follow up to ensure timely delivery
  • External Stakeholder Management - Liaise with contractors to ensure their obligations are being met
  • Project Admin - Maintain project information on the project management database and manage project milestones
  • Admin - Process invoices, carry out filing (hardcopy and electronic); help to draft legal documents, including contracts, non-disclosure agreements and purchase orders as required, in conjunction with Legal Services; coordinate expressions of interest and tender processes; attend meetings and take minutes
About You

The successful applicant will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in education, sheep production, science or agriculture, with about 1-3 years of post-grad experience
  • Previous experience in a project related role will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience in contract administration is desirable 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office 
  • Working knowledge of filing systems 
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as autonomously 
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent written and verbal 
  • Proven ability to influence others 
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
