Job Description

My government client is seeking a Release Manager to manage the release activities of both vendor and in-house products.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • To maintain and manage the promotion of releases through the dev, test, any additional non-prodand production environments ensuring changes are controlled, monitored, and implemented with minimum disruption to Production environment
  • Overall responsibility for the Portfolio's Release Schedule (plan the release windows/cycles, dependencies, etc.) including negotiating for dates, resources and managing all release activities
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Go/No-Go reviews
  • Prepare and maintain Deployment Run Sheets and Implementation Plans
  • Regular Communication of release details and schedules to the Business and IT stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to understand scope and impacts
  • Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across the portfolio
  • Lead and co-ordinate Go-Live activities including the dress rehearsal, execution of deployment plans and checklists, managing roadblocks & managing the communications during the release
  • Maintain release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, communication templates and notification lists

To be successful in this role you must have:
  • 3+ years of release management experience in large complex IT environment
  • ITIL knowledge and expertise
  • Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to achieve outcomes through persuasion
  • Experience in managing relationships to gain the trust and respect of all sides of the product team, technical team and business resources
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience in both waterfall as well as Agile/DevOps project lifecycles
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred

This is a contract role initially for 6 months.

The maximum daily rate for this role is $650 + super.
