Job Description

We are partnering with one of our IT Managed Services clients to find an Active Directory expert. This role will see you sit onsite with one of their government clients as the Go-To person for anything AD and Wintel!

Your new role:
As the Wintel/Active Directory Specialist you will access requests, Group Policy requests, DNS and DHCP requests, as well as implementing new and updated Active Directory policies and infrastructure.

This position works within the IT Operations team ensuring the resources and services being run within the Active Directory services are well maintained.

The Successful Candidate:
Your background:
  • Experienced working with Active Directory databases for maintenance, recovery and troubleshooting
  • Multi-forest management within the Active Directory as well as dealing with one-way and two way trust relationships
  • Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) infrastructure management
  • Group Policy design, management and troubleshooting
  • Active Directory replication topologies including Site and Site-Links
  • DNS Server management including DNS zone migration, design, and configuration
  • DHCP Server management and IP address management
  • PKI (Public Key Infrastructure)
  • Proficiency in scripting PowerShell
Your soft skills:
  • Effective communication (in oral and written form) with a variety of individuals
  • Demonstrated experience working in both small and large team environments
  • Strong problem solving skills analysing problems and resolve issues with both short-term workarounds and long-term solutions
Your technical skills:
  • Creating and configuring Active Directory sites and site-links
  • Creating and configuring DHCP Scopes, Options, and Registrations
  • Configuring DNS Server settings
  • Creating PowerShell Script
  • Analysing existing services and planning for needed improvements
  • Analysing existing performance trends and recommending adjustments or changes
  • Analysing audit and security information
  • Monitoring system reliability and availability
  • Translate technical issues into understandable business language for end-users
  • Work collaboratively in teams with various levels of staff, across the organisation
  • Develop and write technical documentation
