Job Description

We are looking for an experienced RAN HW/SW Testing Specialist Engineer

Purpose of this role- 

Plans and executes technical HW/SW Testing requiring Specialist skills in 3G,4G and 5G RAN environment. Able to work independently with the responsibility for solving Feature testing related issues and reporting according to processes. Identifies and solves proactively demanding technical problems and communicates them to key stakeholders. Participates as an expert in own technology area in customer facing projects e.g. NPI for HW/SW configuration, SW upgrades and Trials. Is active in networking and knowledge sharing. Develops processes, tools and working methods.


Requires minimum supervision, Customer Focused and responsible for the SW upgrade/Feature testing and KPIs within the customer network with highest quality

Own escalated cases and be responsible for the entire life history of the case which includes follow up with the Customer, TSS and R&D specialists.

Both Individual and Team Contributor, performs and/or coordinates day-to-day activities to meet project deliverables.

Willingness to deliver training, knowledge transfer and coach/guide colleagues or customer as needed.

 Carries out root cause analysis in more complex e2e problems and able to determine end user and customer impact.

Lead or provide reference expertise to project teams. Thorough RAN e2e knowledge,  system theory and solution understanding.

Solid experience with Protocol Analyzer Tools (Wireshark, Megamon, Megaplexer, Traffica) and Internal Message Monitoring

 Suggests improvements and seeks opportunities for innovation. Optimizing implementation changes.

Ability to develop new methods/solutions/efficiencies to meet the project requirement.

Test case creation, test result analysis. Process creation/evaluation with respect to test bed environments

Timely production of designs and configuration changes. Specification of testing required for each change.

Provide feedback and share experience to develop tools and process to enhance team efficiency

Develop and maintain testing/implementation procedures

Analysis on Design/Configuration issues


Provide expert input for network impact assessment for Software/configuration changes on services, KPI and developing a reporting/test regime to mitigate exposure

Support implementation activities included are configuration changes, software and hardware upgrades, software updates, new feature functionality.

Review, coordinate implementation activities procured from vendors or third parties and ensure implementation is in accordance with detailed designs and project timeframes

Develop/Support and execute procedures, test plans and test cases in WCDMA, LTE and 5G.


Implement testing and implementation of network configuration changes in accordance with detailed designs

Trial and implement new network features, software and hardware upgrades in project timeframes

Develop or review implementation and fallback procedures.

Undertake NI to CARE technical handover of the solutions implemented in the model and production network


Engineer should have good experience in:

LTE-FDD/TDD eNodeB & Small cells - advanced troubleshooting and log analysis

WCDMA RNC, OMS, mcRNC & WBTS advanced troubleshooting

Airscale, Airframe, CloudRAN Knowledge

BTS Mediator Knowledge

LTE-WCDMA  RF sharing configurations

Emil, Wireshark, MAC tti, BTS Log and Snapshot Trace analysis

Advanced knowledge of LTE and 5G Interface Protocols & Procedures and Signaling messages

Advanced knowledge of WCDMA, LTE, 5G, Parameters, features and their impacts
