Job Description

A highly consultative, commercial and credible procurement expert is sought for an initial 6-month contract, for a highly regarded IT procurement shared services team, in Sydney. The rate for this role is $600-$800 per day + super (max) and likely to extend up to 2 years. You need to be able to work remotely and commence within 4-5 weeks’ time.

About the team
As part of a wider team of procurement experts, you will be a specialist in the procurement of either a) IT professional services or b) IT Software. You will have deep category knowledge and expertise in go-to-market/procurement strategy, alongside bright and driven peers, who likewise specialise in separate categories. The team is viewed as an internal advisory department and you need to be the type of person who engages like the value-adding consultant you are! Your stakeholders need to perceive you and the team as a strategic advisory unit - who also facilitate strategic procurement activities in collaboration with them.

About the role
You are as adaptable as this role needs you to be for your stakeholders. You are advisor, you are contract negotiator, you are a strategy author, you are a tender manager. This is an end-to-end strategic procurement role with lots of technical procurement tasks (contract drafting, negotiating, go-to-market evaluation) which we need you to deliver with lots of consulting flair (high emotional intelligence, ability to build rapport, ability to build trust, ability to read the room).

Mandatory Skills:
- Category expertise in either: IT Professional Services (CMO, project managers, testers, developers, vendors) OR IT Software Services (applications, enterprise software, licencing, clinical applications, Microsoft/Oracle CRM systems)
- End-to-end strategic IT sourcing & category management
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and a flair for consulting
