Job Description

Our client is looking to recruit multiple Credit Assessor to assist them with a project on behalf of one of their clients.  As a Credit assessor, you will be responsible for assessing the applications received via Mortgage Brokers, clarify the loan requirements of the customer and determines how best to structure the loan. 

Key responsibilities:
  • Providing a prompt, courteous and accurate experience to the broker.
  • Assess the viability of the application/request from the information provided
  • Complete application/request & communicate outcome/recommendations
  • Assess all applications with accuracy and quality addressing deficiencies in documentation
  • Adhere to audit and compliance requirements to prevent bank and customer exposure to unacceptable risk
  • Accurate and timely document recognition and indexing relating to associated loan applications
  • Adherence to Risk/Compliance frameworks
  • Complete requests and communicate outcomes and recommendations
  • Email management 
  • Performing basic quality checks on documents to ensure that minimum standard requirements are met.
Skills and Experience required:
  • Professional phone manner 
  • Experience as a Credit Assessor
  • Worked for a bank previously within loan processing 
  • Background checks - Federal Police checks prior to commencing within the role. If you already have one that has been completed in 2020 this would be highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of WBC consumer mortgage products, processes and policies
  • Proven understanding of the use of the Originations System or GO
  • Understanding of WBC valuations ordering system (VMS)
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a high volume and high paced/pressure environment
  • Industry knowledge (strong knowledge of mortgage broker industry) (BSO)
